If you are talking about online FFL/retailers, I've seen them range around $300-500 depending on who is selling it.

Allan's Armory had some in the low $300s a week or so ago. JGSales sells them for $500 but you'd have to be desperate to buy. The fact that JG still has them in stock means that their inventory probably isn't moving.

I saw one for 500 in the marketplace. Really tough to say right now.

Hard to say right now. A lot of people are selling some real crappy ones for $300 to $500. If you are lucky you might find an early import in real good shape, but all the new ones are pretty well used.

I'd say in the 350-500 right now. More for the all matchig numbers and a bit less for te mismatched.

It's not really tough to say, it depends on how much you want one. The Chicom SKS can still be had for $300 if you're patient and don't mind a bit of a project (de-cosmo, cleaning up the stock, etc).

If you want one in good shape and you want it now, you will pay $400 to $500

MSRP $500 and Street Price $300-50. Ironically street vendors think their $279 Chicom or $350 Commercial is worth $500. If anything JGs $500 SKS are just sitting on the shelves. Only the noobs are buying and spending an extra $230 bucks.

                Irony, that isn't.

At gun show, 400-550, and they do sell. They used to be cheap, not anymore. J&G's SKS' are ugly, and they are the same ones they had for 230 in Dec. Just brought them out again. But the pretty ones, are now very tough to find for under 400, even in Phoenix. The Russian ones believe it or not are at the 700-800+ category here in CA. At Ventura show last month vendor I know sold a very nice unrefinished SKS in hardwood stock for $800. I sold my Tula 1950 laminated for 750.00. Romanians around 500+ and Yugo nice ones, about the same. I know it sounds crazy, but they are selling, and I have been doing gun shows since the first George Bush, and never, ever, seen anything like this gun/ammo frenzy.

I sold a handful of those recent imports of Sino-Albanian's for 380 for a rusty one, to $500 for a average one.

The bubble will burst. It can't sustain very long. Just like the real estate market.

In a year or two, pawn shops will be stocked to the ceiling with firearms. By then, SKS's might go for low to mid $200s. Am I calling it right?

Yes and no. Being optimistic that could happen. After the panic dyes down and whatever laws get passed/not passed there could be a stock pile of SKS'... but the downside is where you going to get em? SKS's haven't been imported (Except those Sino-Albanian Mutts) in years and the supply is just about dried up. So I don't know, we shall have to see.

Best bet is to move to Canada and get a non-Russian refurb for 150 bucks

Nope..... Prices may recede a bit, but only a few dollars. I can't remember how many times over the past 35 years that I've been collecting that people have said the same thing. It never happens.

When I was buying new unissued Soviet SKS rifles for $199 many said they would never increase in value......
Same with the Soviet SVT-40's I was buying all I could find for $299

Used Chinese SKS rifles for $79....

                              If you snooze you loose!!!

Buy what you want when you can, because these firearms will not be around in any quantity for long.

Because if you don't you will get left behind!!!
                              Poke'm with a stick!
