Is that a real M38?

I heard there were some counterfiet M38 circulating in So. Cal. Yea, they said the fakes had MIM bottom metal. I'd check, you know, just to be safe.

Maybe you got lucky and have a real one.

The best way to detect a counterfiet Mosin Nagant is to hold the suspect rifle in your hands and look down to see who is pulling your leg.

Both Tula and Izhevsk are, in fact, located in Russia, even though it was known as Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic at the time, and part of the greater Union of Socialist Soviet Republics.

You would prefer the giant CAI Billboard maybe? They also say "Russia"

If they were marking them for export to the US, they certainly would. That marking was put there by Molot as part of the prep for export.

At least the Century dot matrix and PW Arms flags actually look like import marks. Molot (an actual Russian arms factory) manages to give real historic weapons the appearance of fakes.
