    Until your post, the only other place I had seen the claims that the Yugos were building K98s for the Gemans during the war and that M48s were built on left over German tooling was in Mitchell's advertising. I just assumed you were repeating that.
    The only Yugo K98's that people can get a hold of is the refurbs. I believe thay are designated as K98/48. The Yugoslavians had tens of thousands of them leftover from the war and they began to refurbish them until 1953 I think. By then they already had their M48's and the AK made them both obsolete.

      Geeze, I was just kidding. I shoot and own more Mosins and 8MM Mausers than almost every shooter I know.

        The original finish machining/polishing of a VZ-24 should be a lot nicer and smoother than a Yugo M-48, and so the action should cycle more smoothly. But they're both functional shooters and neither are so rare and valuable that you should not shoot them.
