i bought some shellac and put it on my new to me 1934 TULA. the natural dark red color of the wood was so nice. this rifle was not in cosmo. all i did is wipe it down and put another coat of shellac on the wood to seal it. it is the amber stuff you see at all the big box stores. i would only recommend it if your natural Mosin wood color is in good shape and you just want to seal it. i have re finished many other MN and never felt the color was as nice as original.
