I am looking to mount a scope on a Chinese Type53 Rifle and want a scope mount setup that mounts closer to the bolt not up near the rear sights. I like the Advanced Rifle Parts method with the clamp so there is no drilling and tapping into receiver. Trying to get feedback on best way with that setup and would the M44 parts work for the Type53?

I would guess that the parts are interchangeable. I mean the type 53 is basically a copy of the russians.

so lemme get this straight, a scope mount that's pretty much held on by a hose clamp? seems like a bad idea. if you're devoted to putting on a scope, just go all the way and drill/tap either an ati mount or a side mount. this rear-sight replacement type junk is just so cheesy.Comment

I just don't understand the drill and tap method, I have tried to watch videos but nothing seems to show how to do this correctly. When I am drilling and tapping does it go all the way through the receiver? Seems like that would be in the way of the round going through? Just don't want to ruin the perfect shooter gun?Comment
