    Electric bore cleaner

Using my home made electric bore cleaner right now on old mosin. 5 minutes of charge and more crap came out of that gun than days of soaking and solvents. Might be the real answer to old bores. More results later when I'm done. But man is it promising

I made one of these: http://www.surplusrifle.com/reviews/copperout/index.asp

          Worked pretty well.

They work great and can be made for next to nothing if your handy and have the basic supplies on hand.

The Outers solutions were Ammonia Acetate, and either Lead Acetate (for lead fouling) or Cupric Acetate (for copper fouling) and water, FWIW.
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
            Come on...what harm??

It looks pretty simple but is it time consuming?

You just put together a couple grommets, rod and wire. Don't think it should take more than 15 minutes.

I followed the same link on surplus rifle. Stopper from Home Depot, and some insulating tape on a rod, hooked up DC power and then go.

Be sure to keep it contained, you can mess up the bluing if it spills over

I made one of these myself and it worked great on some really nasty Mosin bores. After using it the first few patches push out a lot of black sludge. Be sure to use distilled water after to flush out the vinegar/ammonia solvent followed by water displacing oil.

                        Cheers,

I've done this too. Works good. Don't take it too far or let it go too long.....can't remember exactly why, but it can hurt the metal.
