    Steyr M95 Sling

I got this sling for my Steyr M95 carbine; how in the heck do you install this this thing?

I get the front part (with the hook) but how do you put the back part on (with the loop)

    Appreciate the help!

For some reason, I can only see Eddie's pic and shows the Bulgarian Hook type sling which are commonly encountered. Original WWI M.95 slings were the buckle type (where the Bulgarians later post-war modified them to the hook type) and are easy to fasten but are as scarce as hen's teeth. I've been lucky enough to have obtained 6 original WWI slings over many years I've been collecting the M.95.

Anyhow, here is a pic tutorial I made a long while back showing how to install the Bulgarian hook type sling for the bottom swivels on one of my KarbinerStutzen -

As shown in Goex's photos, the Bulgarian "hook" slings (these come in leather and canvas) is a simple, easy to use, pattern that goes back to the days of muzzle loading muskets.

The most common sling used on Bulgarian M95 rifles is the tan leather, early pattern, "AK sling", which is kind of a Bulgarian "universal sling" for the various rifles the Bulgarians have used since the end of WW2. These slings have a leather strap with a mushroom head stud button on each end, and a d-ring with clip on the front end. With the D-ring and clip removed, these slings were also used on Mosin-Nagants in Bulgarian inventory, with the leather end straps run through the sling slots like the "dog collars" on regular Mosin slings.
