    Samco for a Mauser?

    My fellow C&R enthusiasts:

Has anyone bought recently from Samco? Are their descriptions accurate? Are they okay to deal with? I would like to add another Mauser to the collection and they have some nice looking 24/47s for very reasonable prices. But I have not bought from them, have you?

I ordered my M24/47 from JG. It came in pretty good condition. The barrel seemed brand new after I cleaned all of the cosmoline out. It was import marked from Samco. They put the mark in a nice discreet location under the barrel near the cleaning rod.

I noticed they have some reasonable prices on their guns, but I haven't bought from them. My old man sent them a copy of his C&R so we shall see.

Expect it to take a while for them to respond to any emails. Back in early December I emailed them and it took about 3 weeks to hear back.

I've only purchased the M24/47 kit from them and I was happy with what I received. Good price and quick turn-around on my order.

I think he is probably referring to the 1916 Spanish Mausers in 7.62 NATO. I think they are based on the 93 action.

I bought 5 24/47s from samco. Absolutely gorgeous! The stocks were a little beat up (nowhere near what you see on k31s) but the barrels, crowns, bluing and machining in general were pristine.
