How can you tell if a mount is an original?
From what I read in this forum, if the side of the mount is rough and has circular markings in the metal then it is an original (or maybe I am wrong). Problem is that the serial number that is etched into it matches the rifle, but I am not sure the 1943 Izhevsk rifle is a sniper model as it does not have the 7 digit serial number or a serial number on the left side of the reciever tang.
Can anyone here assist me?
