So I happened to get 2 cleaning rods in my last batch of T53 Carbines from J&G.
There is a lot of talk here and there on the web about what a proper T53 cleaning rod looks like, so I thought I would post photos.
I have no idea if these are actual original rods but hey they did come on T53's so they are at least proper.
They could be SKS or something else rods for all I know.
Here's some comparison photos:

Top to Bottom / Right to Left:
T53 Threaded Rod - Worn off Finish - Slightly Grooved head - - 18 3/8th Inch
T53 Non-threaded Pressure Fit Rod - Worn off Finish - Smashed Grooved head - 17 1/4th Inch
M38 Threaded Rod - Blued - Nice Grooves - Slightly Below 17 3/4th Inch
GRG MFG "SKS" Threaded Rod - On a T53 - Parkerized like finish - Smooth Head - 17 3/4th Inch
Sorry I don't have a Russian M44 to compare
The 2nd T53 one is kinda cool, it doesn't have threads so it has a slight bend in it to hold it in. I have no idea if this was factory or improvised. Probably improvised.
Which works out well because the T53 1953.12 SHI Marked I put it ons cleaning rod nut is all gunked up and I have not been able to remove it and clean it out.
The GRG MFG "SKS" Rod can be found here:
They currently sell for 5.95 so it's a great value if you are just using it for looks to replace a missing rod. They use the same thread pitch so they thread in no problem if your rod nut isn't gunked up.
GRG sells Mosin Carbine Rods too but I suspect that they are just the same rod and they want more for those rods..
