Anyone snag a K98 from Empire Arms?

98k, rifle, rifles, mauser, mausers, military, mail-order, FFL, curio, relic, relics, curio and relic, german, Nazi, carbine

They sold out quick. Just wondering if anyone got one. I got my last 2 from Big 5 for $400. I'm curious to see how high Russian captures will get.

At that price ($525 is the highest I saw) you may as well just buy a bolt M/M K98.

For a shooter a Czech or Yugo would do just as well for much less. RCs are at a weird price point right now.

Bought several rifles from him, his descriptions are accurate.

I have purchased rifles in the past, included a couple K98's. All have met my expectations.

i may be incorrect, but the k98 didnt get a signt hood until the ones made mid war onwards.

no sight hood could just mean its pre 1943 or so.

anyone confirm or correct me here?

I have a Russian capture K98 from classicarms made in '39 and it doesn't have the grooves for a sight hood so you could be right.

My duv 41 K98 has the sight hood groove. I think it was around 1940-41 when they made the switch.
