Huh? Wideners can't ship to my FFL?

    Email said:
We cant ship any firearms to an FFL we only ship to people with a C&R license. As a result we have canceled your order. Please feel free to reorder if you have a friend with a C&R!
    Thank you

Wouldn't an FFL be just as good as a C&R license? I'm confused.

You'll see this discussed a lot in the thread about ordering M44s and the SKS from them. They only ship to CA C&R. That's their business model. They choose not to ship to your FFL.

Widener's does not want to play the CFLC game if they ship to a business FFL.

C&R FFL's are exempt from CFLC so Widener's can ship them C&R firearms without needing to do any CFLC paperwork.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Shipments to California 01FFL's have to use the California Firearms License Check {CFLC) system, which requires that out of state FFL's register with the Cal DOJ. Many out of state FFL's don't want to register with the State of California, so they refuse to ship to California 01FFL's.

Shipments to California 03 FFL's do not require use of the CFLC, so no registration with the State of California is required. Simple as that...

What's worse is that now I see this message on their site "At this time we are not accepting orders for firearms in the State of California"

              That is illegal.

                Yes it is.

One alternative is to trans-ship through a non-California FFL who is willing to ship to a California FFL. It will add to the cost, but there are a number of FFL's in Nevada that will perform this service for you.

Alternatively, if the firearm is a C&R and you have a C&R, and you are within driving distance, you can have the gun shipped to an out of state FFL, drive to the out of state FFL and pick up the gun. I know some people who do this with C&R handguns.

That message has been there for quite a while.
It is only when you go to their C&R rifles page that you will see posted

"Note: California 03 license holders Only on qualifying Firearms, we will not sell to or transfer through any other license in the State of CA."

It is important to take the time to read the entire page before you order.
