Would like to hear comments regarding Mitchells Mausers. I've been looking for a K98 Mauser and the Mitchells look good.

Mitchell Mausers

I brought a few older message threads up current that should tell you everything you need to know about lying fraudulent criminal azz-bandit "Dishonest Don" Mitchell and the bogus, humped-up, steaming turds he tries to pimp off on the unsuspecting. -
Prepare to be insulted if you buy a Mitchell's Mauser and go on any collector site and discuss your purchase.Comment

You're really better off getting a Yugo, VZ24, or K98. There is no reason to get a Mitchell's. if you want a C&R, get an actual C&R. If not, just get a modern rifle and call it good. Mitchell's will never have any collectors value and it will be harder to work with, if you want to add a scope, or something; modern rifles are usually pre-drilled for scope mounts.Comment

Buying a Mitchell is kinda like buying a used car with a new paint job. The minute you buy one and take it off the lot, you'll lose what you put into it. What has been noted, is Mitchell's takes Yugo M48 and RC Mausers and makes them look like "Arsenal New" German K98's. Restocking them and refurbishing them, removing the mismatched serial numbers and re-stamping them to look like they match...as well as fake German stamps and all. They have then been known to try and sell them off like they're real to novice and unsuspecting buyers. Like said, you're better off getting an original surplus rifle without all the refurbished Mitchell fluff, which if you ever want to re-sell a Mitchell, collectors and/or people who know about them and their reputation, will spot it from a mile away and scoff. They're nothing but a novelty and have ZERO collector's value.Last edited by GOEX FFF; 01-27-2013, 11:56 PM.Comment

I was wondering why all of those threads were popping up.Originally posted by Marcus von W.Is that banjo music I hear?
"Sporter" is what the drooling toothless inbred albino with the hacksaw thinks his newly created "dear riffel" is.
"Bubba" is what he and his ugly and ruined rifle really are.
First you are chopping up historic vintage rifles and sticking them in cheap and nasty looking plastic "dildo" stocks that look like some kind of futuristic sex toy that gay space aliens stick up each other's butts.
Next thing you know, you think "Deliverance" is a love story.Comment

Was just on their site and they have some really good ones.
2 Matching # non import ones in the thousands and a few unpeened Russian captures in the 3-4 hundred dollar range.
Also, Empire Arms unconditionally guarantees all markings to be genuine which is a better policy than the Mitchel's.Last edited by MrTokarev; 01-28-2013, 2:31 AM.NRA-ILA Lawmaker Contact Tool

I have a couple rather scarce and interesting Mauser rifles with rather cool combat histories listed for sale on the Calguns Firearms Trader if anyone is interested.
The first is a Ww2 Spanish Airforce M44 Mauser that was converted by the Spanish Airforce from one German M98 Mausers either supplied to Franco's Spanish Nationalist forces by Germany or left behind by German units like the famed Luftwaffe "Condor Legion" when they returned to Germany after helping defeat the Communist/Anarchist "Red Republicans". It's all matching, very good original condition, and has all the rare and desirable original accessories like the cleaning rod, sling, German 98k style bayonet, muzzle cover, and a matched pair of Spanish ammo pouches. I'm asking $500 + shipping on it, which, when you figure in the value of the accessories, works out to less than the cost of an average condition, run of the mill, common $400 Russian capture 98k.
I also have 2 WW1 German Kar 98a carbines for sale. Both ended up in Poland after WW1 and then back in German hands during WW1. One is a Ww2 U.S. vet bring-back that I want $400 + shipping for.
The other was captured by Romania when they switched sides at the end of the war and then imported by Century after the fall of communism. It's a pretty interesting and historic rifle, but the bore is shot out so it's pretty much a wall hanger or could be used for re-enacting and living history display. I want $350 + shipping on that one, which is less than the value of the parts.Comment
