    Need some clarrification.

    Hi all,
Long story short, getting married and need more funds. I have some rifles and shotguns I bought prior to getting my FFL03. No my questions are:

Do I need to right these in my bound book, even if I did not buy them when I had my license?

I have an Ithaca 37 that had the barrel cut down, is that still considered original state? Can I sell as C&R (1950-1951)?

Do I need to keep copies of drivers license for my records?

If I bought these at Big5 and were drosed, can I sell as C&R is eligible?

Thanks for any help, just want to make sure I know what I am doing.

Yes you do. C&R FFLs are required by law to record each receipt or disposition of a C&R firearm in their bound books.

The "original configuration" thing mostly applies to military surplus firearms. Commercial firearms usually came in so many different configurations that there's no way to tell if a commercial firearm is in an original configuration. With military surplus the firearm doesn't have to be in it's original configuration. It just has to be in an original configuration that was used by the military. So an M1 Garand that left the factory in caliber 30-06 is still C&R when rechambered to 7.62x51 because that is still a configuration that was used by the U.S. military. Ithaca Model 37s were manufactured in all sorts of barrel lengths.

You aren't required to keep a copy of the buyers ID. You are just required to record their name, address and ID number in your bound book.

Yes. C&R is C&R. Just remember that to transfer them in California without going through a dealer they also have to be long guns and over 50 years old.

You need to record every transaction after you have your FFL03

So if you had C&R guns before you got your license you do not record them right then and there.

But when you go to sell them you record the disposition of it.

I put it up for 200. It was originally a a featherlite because it has the dog and ducks on the side. It's not an original riot gun, but is made to be one with the barrel cut down. I think I may have under priced it because I had many takers on it and a person offer 250, but I already told someone they can have it. If everyone backs out, I'll let you know Chaos.
