I have a Service Grade Springfield Garand on the way from CMP - I also have an SKS in pretty decent shape.
I'm considering selling the SKS to get a "beater" Garand that fills basically the same role as the SKS. My last service grade (that I sold) was almost too nice - I was afraid to ding it
The SKS is my only x39 rifle, so it might make more sense to have another Garand so I have two that share ammo.
Any thoughts?

. I've shot Garands before and don't find them unpleasant, though obviously the SKS is less so. As for historical aspect, I find the Garand more interesting. Not to take anything away from the SKS, as they are pretty cool.
