Made a quick trip to Reno yesterday, Cabelas, Sportsmans Wharehouse, and found out a longstanding gunshop on Plumb Lane had gone out of business.
Cabelas seemed WELL stocked with many new guns especially black rifles and shotguns, a number of people doing the paperwork.
On the used rack there was a 5 million H&R Garand, first time I've ever seen a Garand outside the "GUN LIBRARY" and at that price range-$599, correct bbl date also, early lower handguard ferrule. It had been reparked, the lettering on the heel of the receiver was not too clear and the chamber dark.
They had 2 Garands in the Gun Library, $1300 & $1700, I didn't even bother with them, they looked worse than any I already have.
Next to the H&R Garand on the used rack was an Enfield No4 Mk1 that caught my eye. When I picked it up it looked to be in absolutely mint condition. Almost burned my hand on the price tag, $899!
They had number of Mausers in the $350 range.
Ammo: 7.62x39 Herters was very plentiful with a 10 box max per customer.
223/5.56 didn't exist and same for most of the 22lr. Many of the rifle caliber areas on the shelves were bare.
Sportmans Wharehouse: ammo I got 1 box of Blaser 357mag, no other 357 left on the shelves, a fair amount of 38 special, 45ACP was down to 2 bonus packs.
