    "RE Bolt Action rifle"

I recently won this Remington made Pattern 14 sporter.

I think the description..."RE Bolt Action Rifle Serial # 2222 .303" threw everybody because no bidder seemed interested. I have a military stock to put it in, so I should be able to restore it without any problem.

It looks fair, with a good bore, but has that British black paint "Suncorite"

Well, the sights haven't been dikked with, so it might be a good candidate for restoration.

Steve, I believe Marcus von W. is right that the ear been shaven. Also, if you have the a US M1917 stock it is close but not the same as the P14 .303 British. You can make it work with some woodworking but not a drop in.

Funny how it's worth more in parts than as a complete rifle.

Check headspace, get yourself some .303 and shoot it first. If it groups well then you have something worth restoring. I'd love to have a P14 to keep my 1917s company.

Juanito, if the ears have been shaved, I can't see it.

I've got several of the Pattern 14 stocks...hoping this will slip right in to one.

Thanks, Pete...I'll get it to the range as soon as I can and post a range report.

Disregard about the ears. Now that I see the other pics it is unaltered. The pic on you original post the ear looked skinny and shaved. Hopefully like Pete said it will shoot okay.

One more thing regarding the furniture. If you need some front handguard, I have some Eddystone NOS handguards you can have on me. Just let me know and I'll bring it to the next match on the 19th.

                            Thanks, Juanito.

I looked at the original picture and noticed that because of the angle or something, the sight ears do look like they were shaved or ground down a bit. Thankfully not.

And thank you for the very kind offer on the handguards.
