    $800 Mosin M38

I was watching this auction in gunbroker. I knew these were rare. But I didn't think the bidding would get this high.

This is guy got a deal or not?

SA marked M38, non import marked

I'd say it is worth whatever someone is willing to pay. People love their rare Mosins. I prefer the Big 5 beaters.

M39's have been going for 4350-$500 unless it is the target model with micrometer/globe sights in heavy target stock that typically go $750 to $1000

I miss my M44, but I sold it in hopes of getting an M38 in good condition.

Well maybe someday a company will make new M44's and M38s like that one company thats makes the M1 Carbine.

The SA M38's have been fetching a good price.. 800 is crazy but they are hard to find

That $550 BIN looks like the stock has been messed with

I would gladly pay $800 for an all original, all matching, non-import marked, Finn captured, Soviet Mosin M43 carbine.

Hell, I'd pay a good price for one that is just all original and all original matching, without a big, butt-ugly, rough as a cheese grater import mark on the receiver

Remember the M38, all matching, Finish capture, 1939 with the early stock configuration?....I stopped bidding at $1, 200....Final price landed about $2, 100. Might very well have been the only one in existence with that string of attributes.

I can only see one picture??

It's an sriesel auction, buyer beware with him. Some of the stuff he sells is legit, but he sells known fakes as well.

It's a 1943 dated M38, meaning it was captured sometime very late in the continuation war... That's what makes this one rarer than the usual [SA] stamped M38.

I saw the only other 1943 I've ever heard of last year and got lucky enough to be the high bidder

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.
