    It didn't last long

Well, I finally got my Navy rebarrel Garand in 7.62NATO headspaced. No sooner than I got that done, when my son laid claim to it. He wanted a 308 Win Garand to go with his Polytech M14.
So, I stripped all the parts needed to fully finish it off his 30-06 Garand and finished putting it together.
No I need to order another Navy Barreled Receiver for my self.

While your ordering another barreled receiver, you may as well order your son another 30-06 Garand. You know that you want to.

True story my first "claim" to dadd's gun was from my, at the time, 10 year old daughter... She took as her's, my Marlin .22 rifle. She is an excellent shot BTW!
last year or so (13-14 now) she said I want your .45 when you kick da bucket... Sure if you can even shoot it... I take her indoor range and set targt a 25 feet and give her my SA 1911 .45 with ONE bullet.

                  She aims and BOOM!
Puts it down "wow that has a kick... did I hit it? I aimed at the little "X" in the middle."

There was no longer an "x" there.... Yea it's hers WOW!

That's a neat little story. I'm sure you were impressed. And I bet after you saw the target you had to change your pants. I know I would have.

I look forward to the day when any future children of mine beg that much to want a firearm. I'll be a proud dad!
