I wish I could help but I've had a full grown male pit with the same social issues for years now. He is the sweetest dog with people and our other two small dogs.. but he was a rescue for the exact same reason and he was never able to get along with my existing male lab. We took him from a friend at the last minute to save his life and I've had to keep him separated the entire time.

Word of advice to a potential adopter, know and understand that no matter how nice the dog may be with females or people, sometimes 2 males just won't work.. so adopt accordingly.

Are there any pit rescues that will take him? I'd help but don't think it would work out with my hyper 2yr old male German shepherd

I wish I could help but I have two older dogs, a male and a female so there would be trouble. I had to put my oldest dog to sleep in Nov, he was 16, so I know how hard that is to do.

Try Change of Heart Rescue http://www.cohpitbullrescue.com/ they are located in Corona or Orange County Pit Bull Rescue http://www.ocpbr.org/. Hopefully they will be able to take Smoochie in and find him a forever home. Our dogs are rescues, and that's the best kind!

          Good luck to you!

Shock collar training or corrective training. Pits are a real PITA when they are dominant. Some are real easy going, some test you every second. Shock his *** into shape.

It works for most dogs that have "problems".

Dang I like to but I have a male terrier who thinks he's the baddest dog in town. One bite from Smoochie and he's done for. I'll ask a few people I know though.

Sorry, I've got a 10 year old dominate female lab cross and a one to two year old 15lb intacted male mix. Smoochie wouldn't fit in here. But, tell me more about the hybred. I've had A LOT of experience with hybreds and might be interested or know someone who is.

If my girls were a little older, I could probably convince my wife... but she still has a hard time with the old "Pit Bull Stereotype", and with my youngest only being 4... I doubt I could convince her. Too bad, I love pits & have been around some real sweet hearts. I'll ask around though.

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man. Jefferson's "Commonplace Book," 1774_1776, quoting from On Crimes and Punishment, by criminologist Cesare Beccaria, 1764

                              Dat Face!

I'm a sucker for Pits. My own is 8 years old now, from a shelter in North Carolina where we were living at the time. I wish I could help brother. Pits are great people-dogs, I hope you find him a home!
