say what you want about mosins

every time i take a few rifles to the range my mosins always perform like a charm. No matter what i feed it. My SKS and M1A
both got fussy over what ammo i was using.
One mosin is a BIG 5 proper reproduction PU sniper. the scope and mounts are dead on right out of the box. My luck i would sell it and get a proper R guns ,century etc real vintage PU sniper and i would have problems. . i think i will just keep it. not a collector anyway.. yes i paid to much for it

I had 4 and sold them all. I was less than impressed with their precision. To be fair, I have never fired a Fin and would be willing to try one. But, I'll never waste my time with a non Fin again.

Mosins suck and for good reason. Big, clumsy, crappy bolt, can't hit the broad side of the barn and makes a good baseball bat that's about it. O yeah it's cheap too.

You must have had a Yugo SKS because I know my Chinese and Russian SKS eat anything and ask for seconds.

i think i can hit a barn with my mosin, not all of us are precision shooters. we just like to go out to the range and have some fun. if i wanted to shoot precision i would not use a Mauser[ sold the one i had] or infield etc. i just do not understand the slamming of mosins. that bolt might be loose but it works. the bolt on my mauser was no better. i think most mosin owners are happy with the rifle. Never wanted a FINN. like i said i just shoot for fun. please understand a lot of us are not precision shooters. a nice reliable MN is just fine. nothing you can say will make us not love them.

Gonna say what I want so don't get bent, Mosins are one of the ugliest, goofiest, most retart looking rifle ever put together. Done, thanks for letting me get that out.

I have MN 91-30 (a reg one and a laminate) both shoot pretty good. True they're no tack-drivers but they do ok. What do you expect from a mass-produced weapon?
                  I have a M39 and it is a tack-driver!

I like my Mosin Nagants very much. There's something about shooting a little piece of history. Enjoying the time it takes to load each round, and slowly working on being a better shot.
And the 1968 vintage training ammo I picked up from SGA works nicely, cuts down on recoil so lets my shoulder work through more rounds.
For a hundred and nineteen bucks it's a good deal of fun which is what part of this sport is about.

I like 'em too. I have one Finnish one that is probably as accurate as my 1903A3. The Russian ones I can tell aren't as accurate if I shoot them prone but I usually shoot them standing and can't tell the difference by the time that factor is added in. I think without question being able to practice with a mosin at 20 cents/round has improved my ability to shoot any largish caliber rifle while standing.

Precision to me is ringing plates at 100 yards. I love my Mosins. They all work just fine too.

Guys/gals, don’t talk bad about Mosin. From what I was told; they are very precisely made rifles and a tack driver with just a cork and shim modifications. According to Mr. Josh below who I assume is a Master Class shooter with probably a few national matches medals under his belt at Camp Perry, his Mosin is sub MOA and will out shoot any Mauser and he promise.

I'm surprised this secret about the inherent accuracy of the Mosins has not leaked out to the shooters at the national matches at Camp Perry or you will see everyone shooting a Mosin. In fact, of all the years I've been following the national matches, I've yet to see a Mosin win a match not even with Mr. Josh behind the trigger.

Same for the 1903. It's a very nice rifle, probably the best Mauser variant on the planet. Prices are insane, though, due to collectors, and I'll not have one to carry around, especially since my Mosin will outshoot it!
I'll outshoot you with irons, I promise...

Anything further than 100 yards and I'll have to buy range time, but I'll shoot out to however far you'd like.
                              Josh
