Will they ever go back down to the $89, or $99 mark?

I don't think so. They recently began buying from another whole seller I bought one for 119 on sale there. JGsales.com is asking 119 for theirs. I saw one a few seconds ago on craigs list, M44 monterey county, 300 bucks.I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. -

early december i got a mosin n. from big 5 hunt beach for 179.....at purchase time. At check out time the mgr looked it up and it was on sale so $129. . .it was their last one a hex 1931, no counter bore. I was so excited, I asked them to go find others so the mgr located 5 at their lakewood store and had that mgr handpick the best one.
the mgr of my store picked it up and the next day I went to inspect it and it was awful compared to the other one so I passed on it.
just ordered 2 m44's from AIM for $189 each. . they are supposed to be good and folks are reporting really nice rifles coming in with really good original blueing, great wood, and no counterboring. . . some are saying they look to be relatively unused . . .Comment

i love my mosins, but the sickness has passed. i no longer salivate over the thought of a MN sitting at big 5 on sale and i do not get one. in the last 7 months between big 5 and 1 from turners i have bought about 10 mosins. all i have right now is a PU sniper and a Romanian M 44. traded or sold the others off. i am sure i will get another on sale mosin in the near future. opening that box is half the fun. i do enjoy cleaning them up real nice and taking something that has been in storage for 60 years to the range.Last edited by NOTABIKER; 12-28-2012, 8:52 AM.Comment

The 2 I got at Big 5 on Black Friday are probably the nicest ones I now have out of 6 total.
$109 each + tax and DROS worked out to about $260 OTD since they only charge the $25 DROS once.

^^^^ Was that at the San Dimas loc ? If so I looked at them also and thought they where very nice. I got a '34 Tula Hex ex-dragoon from the Chino store that is all matching, no counterbore, heck all I had to do was boiling water and run a patch down the barrel and it was super shiney. The CAI you can find on good sales there but the PW's don't sell for to much less then the $130 mark on sale. Still not a bad deal though considering ammo prices.Thank you for your donation to The Calguns Foundation!Comment
