    Mauser pics are up!

So here's the story: My great uncle received the gun in 1948 from his best friend who served in WWII. This friend of my uncle, pulled in from a dead nazi in a concentration camp (wonder how many people if any it's killed), anyway - my uncle owned it for 60 years. He's 96 now and know I collect. So he signed it over to me. Also, he only fired in one time. After some research, it appears to have been built around 1917.

Extremely nice gun. The history of it is even greater.

Very cool that you have that family treasure, even better that your uncle is still with you at 96. My mom is 99 and I'm thankful for every day she is here.

What I find amazing is take a look at the lightening cuts in the photo "proof it's german". You can see the tooling marks. That gun was made back before all this CNC BS. A man (or since it's a 1917 build date, could've very well been a woman) with amazing skills made those cuts. That's history man, hold on to that.

I think I like the history as much as the gun itself.
