    Damn enblocs!

Ok, new member here, already introduced myself in the newbee thread.

So here is my dilemma, I grabbed a sprg correct grade from cmp 2 years ago. I got 2 cans of the Greek in the enbloc. Right away I got 7th rd FTF. Tip of bullet jams below chamber. I tried switching but it doesn't matter if top round is left or right. I re sprung the weapon with a kit, don't remember the brand, but it was the one to get. That didn't solve the problem either. I didn't like the nasty park job on the clips from the start so got after them with some 00 steel wool. Still no help. Bought some usgi clips and problem solved. Runs like a sewing machine. So now I have all of these clips that my rifle doesn't like. Thinking of putting them in my blast cabinet and hitting them with 400 glass. If that does it then a swab of oxpho. Otherwise it's barter time. Kind of at a loss here. Can someone bail me out? Would sure like to get these usable.

Those are known to be not good clips. I would not waste my time on them.

You should just toss them or try and sell the on the cmp forums or gunboards.

All I can tell you is that the single enbloc that came with my CMP Service Special works great. I stupidly bought a box of "third party" enblocs and chaos ensued, just like you are describing. FTFs, premature ejecting of the enbloc, etc.

I threw those enblocs in the trash can and ordered 25 of them from the CMP. They are contract made for the CMP, they are not original GI issue of course, but right away, I could tell the difference, they were much "tighter". We shot 180 rounds today and had a single FTF, that was it, whereas before I was getting 1 or 2 per clip.

Not sure what to tell you about the Greek enblocs but it wouldn't hurt to order a box from the CMP and try them.

That had kind of been my gut feeling all along. I've just read some stories where people have good luck with them. I think your right. I might try blasting a few just for the heck of it but not holding my breath. Thanks for your opinion

Weird, I haven't had any issues with my Greek en blocs. I mean maybe one premature clip ejection per range trip... nothing a pill can't fix.

For the record, the Greeks never made enblocks only ammo. In the 60s and early 70 the Greeks used USGI. In the 70s they used German enblocks and on the HXP 80 the infamous French made "SF" enblocks. If yours came from HXP 80 it is SF and they are junk. You will get all kinds of feeding issues and early enblock ejection.

Check your enblocks for SF and if you find them, throw it in the recycle bin at the range.

Check with Bill Ricca, he usually has the good usgi stuff.

I just got 2 cans of Greek loose in the cans. I'm loading up now and throwing the sf's aside.

Well well well, how did I know that it was SF. They are JUNK and would be cruel to give to your enemy.

I have new USGI clips mostly Borg Warner and International Silver for sale. PM me if you are interested.

Most likely the infamous "SF" clips that others have chimed in on already. I've tried using the wire wheel brush as well as some other abrasives and he result was about 50-50. For the price and effort, might as well make a wind chime of the SF's and grab some CMP clips for your shooting.
Next to me in the blackness lay my oiled blue steel beauty. The greatest Christmas gift I had ever received, or would ever receive. Gradually, I drifted off to sleep, pringing ducks on the wing and getting off spectacular hip shots.

Before recycling the sf clips make sure to stomp them first...people will pick them up at range no matter what you tell them.

I agree to demil them as people will pick them up. Wind chimes is what the that French made just is good for.
