    had to sell a few

i bought a very nice 1983 M1A, no special deal price wise. just to fund part of the price i decided to let a few rifles go. say what you want about Mosins. if you have a nice clean Mosin and are not asking to much for it .It will sell very fast. i sold a 1928 dragoon and a nice 1938 TULA in one day. i also sold my turners SKS. their was nothing wrong with it and i am sure the new owner will enjoy it. i lost no money on these rifles. i still have a new YUGO SKS and a pu sniper and a romanian M 44. i just had to have this M1A. i trained with the m 14 in ARMY basic training in 1967. i tend to buy a rifle, clean, shoot ,sell
    FUN .

I love my Polytech M-14S, it would be one of the last guns I sell right with my M-1 Garand and M-38 Mosin Nagant (my First "New" rifle and the one that got me started collecting

I'm glad you got your m1a.
I saw you had to sell some rifles to do it and I was worried that the m1a would be gone by the time you got your money up. it is also great that you did not lose money... think about what items other items we can buy in our lives that don't depreciate almost instantly. you have a real gift in the ability to be able to sell your rifles most people just can't unless it's a life or death emergency. it's a good thing because you're probably spreading joy and getting new people into shooting. my favorite new FFL ( San Jose gun trader) has a nice poly tech m 14 style right now , but with my current budget I can only think about one of those recent SKS Chinese imports.

I think this is one of the appealing things about firearms as a collectable and as an asset - unlike something silly like Franklin Mint plates or Precious Moments figurines - if you get it at the right, reasonable, FMV, price, you can always get your money back out of it should you need or want to. Even if you have to sell it quick and at a loss, you will still be able still be able to get more quicker than for a lot of other stuff.

And remember, "money" (and I use that term jokingly since under the Constitution only silver and gold - not paper - is considered money) is only a Tinkerbell fairy dust snorting "I believe, I believe..." commodity, having no real solid or long term value. Paper money is intrinsically worthless beyond it's use for starting fires or what you can do with it in a toilet paper shortage, both of which uses it is actually pretty poor at. So even if you paid $300 for something and sell it for $250 and use said $250 to get something worth $500, you have not lost anything.

Of course, in about a year, the worthless, criminal, schitt eating, butt licking, dick breath, Marxist, killer moron, NAMBLA worshiping, freedom hating, azz bandits....er, excuse me, I mean, "Democtats"..... in Excramento will have made this a lot harder by closing the "Private Party Sales loophole", which brings us one step closer to closing the "Bill of Rights 2nd Amendment loophole.

I've always wanted a legal version of the M14 - almost dropped the cash for one of the MK Specialties guns....glad I didn't, as the Feds ended up declaring them illegal machine guns and seizing all they could. One day, the right one will come along and will take its rightful place in my gun vault next to the Garands, M1 Carbines, SKS's, Tokarev, and AK.

              selling rifles

here is how i look at it. the fun is in the hunt. so i find out about these turners SKSs. i run down to turners Thursday at 4:30 pm. they say ok the sale is on.after 10 days i take it home and clean it up. decide to just clean the wood with lemon oil. micro cleaned the metal. took it to Lytle creek and put 100 trouble free rounds thru it. took it home and cleaned it. as much as i like SKSs i only need 1. i have a mint yugo 59/66 A1 SKS and that is what i will take to the range. after all that fun i sell it for 300 ,which cover the rifle dros and tax. so i had 2 weeks of fun for zero cost. that is my world right now. expensive vacations are over rated in my book. been their ,done that. i love the smell of gun oil

thanks for asking, the trigger pin broke in half. part stayed in and it still worked. the other half got stuck in the housing causing the trigger housing to not come out. a tap on a wood block to the barrel end and it came loose. Springfield is sending a free pin as i speak. a M1A is not something i though i would ever get to own. very excited. i will treat it like a beautiful woman , use it but do not abuse it

Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Hey that's great. Those folks at Springfield are really helpful. I bet you can't wait to take her out on a date and see yet alone feel how she performs while you have her in your arms. And also when you place your finger on that sensitive part, you'll be banging away. She'll be smokin'. Enjoy!

Hey! I got three bins of those freaking Beanie Babies that my daughter collected nearly 15 years ago, I'd be happy to let them go to you for maybe a M1 or a nice carbine or even a good condition WWII P08 or 1911........(please! I need to get these frickin things out of my attic!!!!!!)

Now don't be hatin' on the Beanies! My daughter collected them when she was little, still picks up a cool or interesting one now and them. I actually am kind of fond of them... I know how some folks used to complain about going to gun shows and having to walk past tables full of Beanie Babies and other non-firearm stuff. However, I used to take my daughter to gun shows so she could get things like Beanies, rocks and minerals, toys, jewelry, etc. for her collections and I could pick up weapons related and historical items for mine. It was a real father-daughter bonding experience (I'm a single dad who raised my daughter by myself since she was 3) that taught her a lot about perception and value, and innoculated her against the toxic tsunami of lies and bullschitt out there about firearms and the people who collect them.
