    Anyone use the garandgear plug?

Hello, a buddy of mine just clued me in on the garand gear plug. Aparently unlike other plugs on the market, this one needs no adjustment.

Im curious if anyone here has had experince with one and what you can share aboutit.

I found a small thread about it that is about a year old so i couldnt bump it. Then again im hoping people may have a stronger oppinion now either way.

    Thank you as always.

I just installed mine a couple of days ago and will be taking it to the range soon after the rain passes. Read the charts concerning the gas plug. It beats the Schuster gas plug. With the Schuster you will waste ammo if you are to use different commercial ammo.

It is simply a low-compression cylinder head for the gas system.

Run them on my field rifles... an elegant solution that works perfectly.

How many rounds have you put down using it? Have you tried diffrent comercial ammo?

Please come back and report how your range trip went. Stats are one thing but i like first person experinces that are realitvely nonbiased! Lol!

I bought one a few months ago.
Have put about 80 rounds of Greek surplus through the rifle with it.
Have yet to try it with commercial ammo.
But the milsurp works fine with the garandgear plug installed.

Coupla Hundred rounds of HXP, and a coupla boxes of Remington Express 180 Grain Core-Lokt hunting ammo.

Works great, but don't really need it.

Plan to start reloading some bolt-rifle pressure 180 gr. ammo for'em using Speer DeepCurl bullets and 57 gr. of IMR 4350 for ~ 2800 fps MV.

            Will really need it then.
