    Walther P38 condition/price check

The pics aren't the greatest. Can you help estimate the condition for pricing? I appreciate the help.

I am told this is a GI bring back Walther P38. Edit- looks like a Spreewerke pistol.

Please let me know any details I should be aware of.

    Thanks!

I saw similar ones at J&G with the CYQ armory build and the Waffenkampfs for $749.00 yesterday, if that helps. But there are a lot of collectors and fanatics about WWII P38s, you should check out some of the collector sites.

Best way to check is to go into gunbroker and do an advance search for what you have under completed auctions and you can get an idea what they are going for.

The spreewerk CYQ models are said the be a little less refined as far as the machining goes compared to the walther and Mauser made p38's and I don't see a year on your gun it may be to the right of the CYQ on the slide but p38 war bringbacks with no import stamps or russian capture marks will go for 500-1k depending on the condition.

Thanks guys. I'll price it appropriate for the condition and rarity. Certainly not as desirable as a walther. But still a nice nazi marked p38.

Spreewerk did not date their guns. That is a normal CYQ style so it will be on the low end of P38 price range. Price will depend on if the gun is matching, barrel - slide-frame, and if it was dipped. Not all Russian Captured guns have an import mark so if the finish is not original the price drops to the shooter value.
