Second Mosin Nagant

I just could not pass up the low price and received my second MN this week. I cleaned it up today and it looks good. The parts are all electro pencilled and match, and the barrel is shiny and marked 1942. The stock looks relatively new, and has a reddish stain for a finish.

There was surprisingly little cosmoline on the rifle. I took it apart and cleaned it well with paint thinner, including the wood. I reassembled it and sprayed Rem Oil on the parts to preserve it from rust, and put some lubriplate on the bolt lugs. The action is more smooth than my other one.

I picked up an 880 round crate of surplus ammo too. The desert will be booming for a while!

I have two mosins and I think my new tradition is going to be to buy one every time big 5 has them for sell for less then $100. The wife for some reason is never mad when I buy a Russian gun..... weird woman.

first i had to keep buying Mosins for about 4 months, then if that was not bad enough i started buying spam cans of ammo. you might stop between 5-10 cans. after i had enough 440 bulk cans i started to buy the better stuff [ MATCH ] of 220 round cans for 160 bucks at ammo brothers. after you just cant stand it any longer you might start buying surplus Mausers and SKSs. does this sound familiar to any of you out their. i pick up another black Friday Mosin today that i do not need. i cant stop i tried.

I gave my second Mosin to one of my doctors since he's an enthusiast. It was a nice flat receiver Tula I think 1933 or around there. Never fired it since I bought it so it was in good shape.

Yeah, I got mine for $89.99 back when they were on sale, plus a coupon.
I was going to buy two but they only had one left at the time.
