Hi all:
Thought I would let all of my fellow Calgunners know that I had Big 5 Camarillo order me a Yugo SKS. It was brought in from another Big 5 and I just went and checked it out.
It is a Yugo 59/66, slathered in cosmo, has the GL sight intact, of course has the Cali compliant muzzle brake installed where the GL used to go. The stock is quite nice, examined the bore with my bore light and it had a lot of cosmo but from what I could tell the bore was shiny and beautiful. I could not find an importer mark but I checked all of the usual places, it probably had cosmoline hiding it.
Bolt is EP'd and from my limited knowledge about SKS, stock didn't match receiver number, magazine cover number didn't even look like a serial number (it was something like BL:000 000 04). They have it for sale for $369.00 and with today's Big 5 After Black Friday sale of 10% off, you can get it for $332.00 plus tax and DROS.
I passed on it, I just scored an immaculate '55 Tula from out of state that looks like a brand new gun, it arrives this week, yes I will post lots of SKS porn pictures, but I paid more than this for it. So if you are looking for a nice 59/66 shooter with looks to match and non-matching serial numbers don't bother you, it's sitting there, help yourself. Personally, I would rather have this Yugo than most of the ultra beat up Chinese SKS that everyone has been selling, this thing looks brand new compared to the Chinese ones that most of you have been posting. Big 5 has discontinued selling SKS so snap it up as they won't be getting any more. It had all of the pouches, oiler, sling, etc. as well.
Jesse, the assistant manager can show it to you if they haven't put it out yet.
