Supply and demand. Condition, condition, condition.

Don't expect that to serve as a precedent for your 1942 91/30 to skyrocket in value. They're two completely different rifles from a collector point of view.

I saw a NEW at a local shop recently for $150. No kidding. As rare as a NEW M91 seems to be. Chopped stock. Barrel cut down. No bluing left. Mediocre bore.

Condition, condition, condition. Supply and demand.

There are plenty of 91/30s worth more than $119.

I recall when gasoline was $0.25 a gallon...everything eventulally goes up when there is a demand....I'll bet Mosins and other C and R rifles will go considerably higher because of no dros between private buyer and seller just before 2014 when everything gets "registered"....The $109 black Friday special at Big 5 might be a $300 gun on December 15 of 2013 because it's still paperwork free...never know.
God and the Constitution give me my rights and actions...any other input is just blabbering.

Thanks for the correction, I didn't know about the M91.

i sold 2 91-30s for 300 each. one was a big 5 on sale in a box i got for 120. why did i get 300 for it ? because it was worth 300. many many special Mosins end up on sale. weather it is a 1943 izzy or a 1928 hex tula dragoon. they all come in the same box.

I don't own one but have seem many at the range and they are quite nice rifles.

Part of the appeal of the Mosins is the interesting history behind them. The Westinghouse is one of the most interesting to me. American made Russian military rifle, how weird is that?
I have a Westinghouse that was made in America, sent to russia, then captured by the Finns. Wild stuff!

                            Here's a 91/30 that's worth a bit more than $119:

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

Nice! I see a trifecta of Finn markings...possibly four if the [SA] is hiding there somewhere.

My '28 Five Line Tula, Tripple MO, Ex-dragoon is probably worth a couple dollars more than the $119.99 that I paid at big 5
