Decent scope for a Mosin w/ATI mount

Hey folks, lookin for a reasonably good scope for a Mosin with an ATI mount installed. Nothin too cheesy, but would rather not spend too much for glass on a $100 rifle. No fancy tech required, any ideas???

I had been looking at a Barska 3-9 40 Huntmaster

Barska does not sound decent at all.

BSA edge 2-7x32 pistol scope is a great scope for the Mosin, especially if you are using a scope mount where the OEM rear sight is located. If you are mounting any scope there you need to make sure the eye relief is at least12-15 inches. This is why "pistol" scopes work best in this application. I use to use a BSA edge on mine and it was great. You can find them for around $80-$100 NEW Aim Sport also makes one for under $50 http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/c....aspx?a=951920
This is my rifle, there are many like it, but this one is MINE!

The ATI mount is a standard-relief mount, so we'd be talking about a standard scope.

For a Mosin, I'd recommend either the Redfield Revolution or the Nikon ProStaff, in 3-9x40, with a preference for the Revolution (both are about the same price, Revolution's made in USA by Leupold). Either riflescope will hold up under a Mosin's recoil, and you won't be out a ton of money. The $50 scopes might not hold up under that type of recoil for long.

As the Dillon Precision fans say, "buy once, cry once." My Mosin has a Revolution 3-9x50 on it (Jmeck peek-thru mount), and it works great.

You're giving contradictory advice. The AIM scope at the link has eye relief of 8.5 to 10.5 inches. That's the same as the NcStar 2-7x32 pistol scope. Not all long eye relief mounts are designed for that much rearward positioning of the scope so they'll be lacking if used with a scope with 8.5-10.5" eye relief.

This is how far back a scope with 8.5 to 10.5 inches of eye relief has to be positioned. Make sure your mount allows this much allowance.

The AIM scope and NcStar are similar but not identical dimensionally. The AIM is shorter from the turret forward.
