With no pictures it's tough to say. IMO, $350 is high for an original PU scope. If you are going to pay $350, you should be getting an original mount with the scope as well.

Classic is pretty good at marking their products if they are real or repo.

From the looks of it these are real and come with mounts, leather lens covers and canvas case.

Classic Firearms is proud to have been able
to acquire and offer what I believe
is the finest private collection of
      All Original Russian WWII Era
PU / SVT Sniper Scopes ever assembled

These scopes represent years of searching and acquiring by a private collector here in N.C.

After years of searching high and low
and enjoying his collection he has decided
the time has come to part with them
      and partnered with Classic Firearms
      in bringing them to market

They came to us individually numbered
and identified as you see in the sample photo's.

Each scope is historically original and complete
with mount, leather lens covers and canvas case

You choose the one you want

These orders will have to be called in and we will remove the scopes from the site as they sell.

That's my friend Alden's ("NCReptile" on Gunboards) collection. I didn't realize he actually had more Mosin scope setups than I do until he started selling them off - besides these setups Classic is selling for him, he also sold a ton of original PU scopes, mounts, lens caps, canvas scope covers, etc. off on Gunboards and Gunbroker... an opportunity came along and to fund it he sold a fantastic amount of Mosin sniper goodies at a fraction of their actual value (he knew this) to raise the money quickly.

These are all good deals - the individual value of each scope, mount, lens cap, and cover are more than the asking price.

Individual photos of each would help as there are things that could affect value, such as lack of post war refurb markings on the scope, whether or not the mount has electropenciled numbers, if the scope cover and lens caps are wartime or post-war, etc.

Also, for the Progress 91/30 PU scopes, they should list the Cyrillic A or B letter serial number prefix, not just the numbers without the letter prefix.

But knowing Alden, these are all the choicest items he kept for last, and might all be ones that are all WW2 original and correct.

Going to have to go look at my Mosin ex-snipers and see if any numbers match...

Wouldn't that be like winning the lottery? I've been looking for the matching scopes for ex-snipers or Samco scopeless Yugo issue rifles for years, never found one...got kind of close a few times. I heard of people buying something like a mismatched rifle and then later getting another mismatched one and it turned out that each rifle had the other's bolt.

Sure, but I have a couple of Samcos and about a dozen ex-snipers. Won't hurt to look.

Classic is marking down these scopes by $50, so it will be $300. are these scopes worth the price? It doesn't look like they are moving.

                    thanks

price is kinda steep for an average joe, maybe collectors.
