    Lee Enfield front sight adjustment

Front sight on my LE, needs adjustment.
Is that a cap screw or what? Loosen or remove completely? Then drift sight?
    Thanks in advance!

Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

You're looking at the screw, dead-on. It's underneath that black paint.

Here is what it looks like, without the paint:

OK, so do I loosen the screw to adjust, or does turning the screw cause the adjustment?

I haven't had the need, but here is an article on it: http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=26809

Honestly, you will never meet a more helpful set of blokes, than those: Brits, Ozzies, Kiwis and Yarpies. As long as you're talking about Enfields or Beer, that is.

The screw is a jam screw to keep the sight in place. Loosen the screw, drift the sight blade and retighten.

The idea was that british soldiers were taught to 'aim off' ie learn where their rifle shot and aim counter to that a given distance to hit where they were aiming. The screw is a reverse flat head phillips so they can't adjust their sights. The sks/ak sight adjustment tool works on it.
