    Mosin Stock

So I come to you honored and wise people. My 91/30's stock decided to split, riding "inna woods" this past weekend with the rifle on my quads rack. Bungee cable popped off and Mosin bounced off the back and my nephew ran it over.

Do any of you wise forum citizens know of a site to get replacement stocks? Either wood or man-made material I really have no preference, though the man-made stocks' studs will help me fit a stronger strap.

    Opinions? Thoughts? Cake?

not possible. The Mosin stock is designed to be able to withstand being run over by a T34 tank.

If it is a 91/30, I have a few spares from a long ago eBay deal.
Most are missing the band retaining springs, buttplates and the front cap (they do have the crossbolts), but you can salvage the parts off yours.

Well, now that I think about it, to be proper I should really just put a post in the marketplace.
I'll have to pull them all out, take photos and find shipping boxes. What a drag. I'll think about it.

In the meantime try eBay or these guys: https://www.libertytreecollectors.co...?idCategory=17

        Good Luck!

Gunbroker and the Gunboards Trader (the "For Sale" section, and an ad on the "Wanted to buy" one)are good too.

Actually, for anyone who has a really nice, correct, original stock on their Mosin (like a Finn stock or early stock with the screwed in sling slot escutcheons) that would be hard to replace or seriously devalue the rifle if damaged, a spare stock to use while shooting, hunting, or re-enacting, would not be a bad idea.

There are also the black plastic stocks - I think ATI makes them - but the ones I've seen look and feel real cheap and flimsy, and the ergonomics of the pistol grip aren't that good either. There was one of those type of plastic stocks (forget the maker right now, but they are real well known) on an M1 carbine that I restored when I bought it, I didn't like it at all and got rid of it real quick.

Shop hardwood gunstocks for any make, model, and action with the Boyds Gunstock Configurator. Choose from several wood and finish options.

Ebay has sellers that have original 19/30 stocks for sale.
