Max price for a 1918 SMLE

I came across an SMLE I liked, good condition with good bore etc. Probably factory reconditioned at some point - the brass disc area is plugged with wood and the wood had a minor hairline crack which also has a thin plug across it (on top near receiver).

It was manufactured by Birmingham Small Arms. (BSA)
Everyone on Calguns keeps talking about TDS. I never knew we had so many fish keepers!

The TDS on my 10gallon tanks 110ppm
The TDS on my 29 gallon tank is 150ppm (due to substrate)

Like all used guns...it's condition, condition, and condition. With the 1918 date, I'm guessing it's an SMLE MKIII*, without volley sights or the magazine cutoff? If these are present, especially the volley sights on the left side of the stock, it it would raise the value.

Check to see if all the numbers are matching (Receiver, bolt, rear sight, nosecap), the condition of the bore, if it's import marked or not, and the condition of the stock.

If it's an average SMLE MKIII*, you should probably keep the price to no more than $300. If it's in excellent FTR condition, maybe $350-$400.
If it still has the volley sights, then it can easily be worth $500 or more.
"What a lovely but absolutely ridiculous sentiment!"

Yeah it was an MKIII* without the volley sights and cutoff. They want more than 300 for it. That was my initial offer. I think I'll pass thanks for the help both.

I'd pass for $300 as well. You can still find decent LE's for $200-250.
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...
