Hello all, I'm having an issue with my ruby pistol that was given to me by my grandfather. I've partly disassembled it, but the slide will not move more than about 1/4 off. I think something is stuck somewhere but cannot tell. If someone knows something about this particular issue and how to resolve it, that would be great. Thank you.

First off - in order to get the slide off, the hammer must be cocked (pull the slide all the way back to cock it). Even then you might have to hit the slide a couple times (in the forward direction) with a rubber mallet to get it off (in other words: it just won't come sliding off by itself).Last edited by bellts; 11-02-2012, 7:39 PM. -
Looking at the pictures - slide it back carefully because it looks like you somehow already got the spring out. The slide has a tiny firing-pin housing (you can see the face of the hosing (aka bolt face) in your last two pics) that cocks the hammer.Last edited by bellts; 11-02-2012, 7:56 PM.Comment
