    MP-40 Mags Dimension. Help!

I am recreating some WWII stuffs, and I am stuck because the drawing I have lack dimension and all I could do is to interpolate dimension. If you have the dimension of the MP-40 mag at the middle cross section, please let me know.
I'd rather be at the range!

What is the "middle cross section" mean? I've got some MP-28 & MP-38/40 mags. IIRC each is a bit different with ribbing etc.

I need to reconstruct the magwell of a gun that uses MP-40 mag so the dimension of:

      1. front side to back side
      2. side to side

When the mag is standing up.

Thank you in advance for your help

I'll have to dig some boxes out. The Vigneron is very close to the MP-40. A STEN may be close also.

I did some digging & came up with a MP-41 mag. AFAIK they are fully interchangeable with the MP-38/40.

          It's an original, marked:

          .............M.P. 41

          ....PATENT SCHMEISSER

          ............)Haenel>

I don't have my calipers handy so the dimensions are a bit rough. The front to back is approx 34mm. The width is not easy because it's got steep taper or wedge shape to the top of it, where it transitions from double column into single feed. The main mag well width is approx 23mm. The top of the mag down to the mag well seating detents/stops is approx 67mm.

The mag body is made from a single sheet of steel with a deep rib in the back, 2 shallow ribs on each side & welded and ground smooth on the front. The markings are on the left hand side bottom & there is a single witness hole on the right side back with a 32 marked on the left side of the rear rib across form the hole.

A second sheet of steel is used for the mag well part & reinforces the feed lips. It wraps around the back side & is open at the front. The seating detents/stops & mag catch slots are on this part. This part is spot welded on the 3 sides & ground flush. The sides are ground quite a bit above the seating detents/stops.
