    Remington Model 81

Can anyone tell me if the Remington Model 81 is classified as a C&R rifle? I cannot find it specifically listed on my C&R sheet but I do know the sheet the ATF sent me is not always up to date. I would appreciate any help.

A firearm does not need to be listed to be C&R eligible.

All firearms in their original configuration that are 50 years old or older are automatically considered C&R.

Says so in the books they sent you when you got your license.

The last Model 81 was built in 1950 Serial #55581 so any model 81 you find will be at least 62 years old, Its well over 50 years old should be a C&R.

Thank you, Does that definition vary state to state?

It shouldn't, but the process of what you have to go through to buy a gun within different states, C&R or not, of if the C&R in question is a handgun, might vary. You should not have any problems with a Remington Model 8 or 81.
