Nice find! Sorry to hear of your "problem". If you go back to your CG Registration Agreement, you'll find you also agreed to give up said Membership, should you enter into a 12 step program...
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...
I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Nice 2A. Be sure and check with go no-go guage.
Sounds like your bitten by the bug and should call CRA straight away.
Ask for Mr Jones at (Curios & Relics Anonymous).
Plenty of C&R whores here to assist with your issue.

Thanks for the kind words gents!
Actually, this will be my fourth C&R. I inherited two nice Colt SAA from my father after his death. One in .22 and the other in .44 special. Can't decide if I want Garand or SKS next. I submitted my FFL03 a few weeks ago so hopefully that comes in a couple months.
@Gman,
So you have me worried now, this is my first hearing about go-no-go gauges so after researching...what happens if the 2A fails the test of go-no-go gauges?? Does that mean the rifle is unsafe to fire? Or simply that I need to be careful with ammo selection?
In any case, anyone in San Diego want to loan me their 308 go-no-go gauge? Glad I only put $50 down on the rifle on layaway.
Regards,
MP

When your 03 arrives run out and get your C.O.E.
Calguns OHOD has a counseling clinic for C&R Disease, and she is taking new patients.
Buy a really BIG safe and put Lycra sides on it.
Good Luck . See you in therapy.

I'd would check any milsup before firing it.
A lot of importers say they check headspace but I like
my eyes and digits and want to be sure.
You could always check it by putting a sand bag onto of the receiver and fire it
j/k.
You should get an offer from a fellow CalGunner to assist you..
Lot's of C&R people here in your area.
My 2A headspaced fine. I stopped shooting it because primer strikes are very deep. I think this was from pulling the bolt apart and not checking firing pin depth upon reassembling. I need to borrow a bolt tool to fix it.

People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

Thanks Gman! I might call up Fine Firearms tomorrow and ask if they have one I could test in it. The gentleman I was working with was very knowledgeable and has his own 2A as well.
Okay, so if you don't mind...what is your take on shooting .308 in it?
I've read so much on the topic tonight that my heading is spinning.
Some say use Wolf steel case only...
Some say use lighter grain like the Remington Reduced Recoil
Some say the 2A is built to withstand pressure up to 90k so any 308 is fine in it.
Others...say stick to surplus 7.62. Problem is, it is looking hard to find surplus 7.62 nato. And I don't reload so that is out of the question as well.
Thanks again!

PLL, I've read about the do - don't shoot 308's out of the Ishi for years now and the debate rages on. I've shot them with no ill effects but watch for signs of high pressure. I have not put many rounds through my 2A because of the bolt/FP issue and won't fire it until it get the strike issue resolved.
I'm just getting into reloading now so I can update you when I start loading lighter loads in 308 and my rifles ability to digest a 100 or so at a sitting. -g

I enjoy my Ishapore 2A. Wish I found it with the stock intact. It was bubba'ed big time, but was a screaming deal. Mine headspaced ok (it 'almost' closed on a no-go gauge) and I've had no problems shooting mil-spec 308 in the 147-150gr weight. But like other people have said, I wouldn't shoot the heavy/high pressure stuff.Comment
