ammo ok for garand?

    ammo ok for garand?

    found some lc reloads in garage 165 gr spire points with 43.0 grs 2520 powder, think they would be ok for m1? spire pt a negative? thanx for opinions.

    Contradicting statements here. If it is true LC then it is not reloads. Just like saying a Federal or Winchester reloads...no such thing. My rule with reloads: If I did not load them I will not shoot them.

    It is not the weight of the projectile that damage the M1 op rod but excessive port pressure due to slow powders.

      If it is loaded with 2520, it should be ok but I wouldn't risk it unless you loaded them and are 100% sure of whats in there. Not sure if 43gr would be enough to cycle mine.

        by lc i was refering to the brass mfg. i did reload them for a bolt i had a few years ago, very accurate in THAT rifle. was curious if load seemed ok for garand. thanx for input
