Which guns are eligible for Military Boltgun Matches?

I think I have the dumb, because I can't find a list of all those guns that are eligible for use in a CMP style Military Boltgun Match. Mind helping a brother out?

It all depends on who is running the match. Generally it is limited to bolt guns that are in original condition. No target sights, no match triggers, no modified stocks. I have been to several at different places and used Lee-Enfields, Carcanos, different Mausers, and even a French 8mm Lebel Rolling block. Check with whoever is running the match to see what their rules are. The NRA High Power rifle rules only specify metal sights and the ability to hold 5 rounds.

Thanks for that, but what about US rifles? Or does "Military Boltgun Match" imply foreign only?

Look on page 25 of the rulebook I linked above, it breaks it all down by type.

Would a Finnish M-28/76 Qualify here, they are in As Issued condition from when the Finns used them as Marksmanship training Rifles.

              What say you all?

It would not qualify for a CMP Vintage rifle match.

At club matches, such as the Sac Valley Military rifle silhouette matches, it would shoot in the Open class because of the target sights.

You could shoot it in a NRA High Power match in the Match Rifle class.

It isn't really in As Issued condition since the original rifle was a M28/30, that was restocked in a target stock and given target sights.

03's, 03-A3's, 1917's, Krags. Foreign military rifles must be as-issued and manually operated bolt or straight pull.

Go to the CMP website and download their rule book. Everything you need to know is easy to find.
