Best place to buy a M1895 Nagant?

Where is the best place to order a Nagant revolver? I've found quite a few places online, but I wanted to hear some feedback from you guys.

I don't have an FFL 03, so obviously I would have to have it shipped to an FFL, but would I still need to deal with DROS & 10-day waiting period? Also, I think my HSC is expired... would I need to renew that for a C&R pistol?

    Thanks!

Even if you had a FFL03 ordering a pistol even C&R into CA requires the transfer to be done at an FFL01.

If you had an FFL03 and a COE it would still be DROS'd but you would not have to wait 10 days.
If you had an FFL03 and a COE and it was a C&R then you would be exempt from HSC.

    CA Penal Code 120807
(a)(6) A federally licensed collector who is acquiring or being loaned a handgun that is a curio or relic, as defined in Section 478.11 of Title 27 of the Code of Federal Regulations, who has a current certificate of eligibility issued to him or her by the department pursuant to Section 12071.
In your case, yes you will need a HSC, still do DROS and wait 10 days.
Remember you will be paying shipping, the FFL will collect tax on it, out of state transfer fee (can be pricey) and DROS fee. Gonna make a 100 buck gun kinda pricey..

    All highly trusted:

Considering you are in SoCal, it might be cheaper to get the FFL-03 and drive to J&G in Prescott. It takes a few weeks to get your C&R but the supply of those revolvers isn't going to dry up any time soon.

Remember, this will not be your last C&R purchase. You may think it's going to be "Just this one." but it just doesn't work that way. If you don't get the FFL-03, you'll be paying well in excess of $100 EXTRA for every single handgun as well as long guns if you're buying from a dealer.

If you have it shipped to a transfer dealer in CA, A few may supply vaseline and give you a goodbye kiss when they're done but they're ALL gonna have their way with you.

        C&R Handgun report

When you drive the pistol back, don't you have to fill out a Cal DOJ C&R Handgun Report? ($19.00 per HG). Still cheaper than a FFL 01 transfer.

How about being a Seasonal Resident of Las Vegas, and have your shipping address on your FFL 03 in NV, like Las Vegas?

The real question, though is this:

Can you twirl an 1895 revolver?
...a fool and his money were lucky to get together in the first place...

If im not mistken shouldnt the M1895 Nagant be considered an Antique? The design is over100 years old, so shouldnt they just send it to your front door?

                No, it's not a snubbie.

Really doesn't matter how old the design is...it is the actual date of manufacture that rules. If it was manufactured after 1898, it is not an antique.

I have been looking for one of these too. So far, no luck. I considered just ordering it online and paying for the transfer, but around here that adds at least $70 to the cost.
