    Finally got a M44

    Yesterday I rec'd (via UPS - fm a fellow calgunner) a 1953 Polish M44!
(Sorry for the crappy cellphone pic's - my laptop is terminal)

Since it just arrived, haven't had chance to take it to the range, hopefully that will be soon!

The bore looks great - hope it shoots well.

    So whatda think?

what with yellow spots, is that natural in the wood?

    "Negative" Tiger Striping??? I'm jealous.

Where and how much you pay?

Post WW2 should have nice shiny barrel, and good for minor bubba-dizing with scout scope because to me post WW2 isn't all that "historical", just discontinued.

Even with shiny barrel it will require more cleaning effort, so invest in a snake if you value your time at over $1/hour.

Also remember to check firing pin setting.

you thought a 91-30 was fun well let me tell ya. the 44 is another step up in the big bang theory. major fire ball. you will get crazy looks at the range. seek out a AR with all the boy toys on it and shoot next to him. WALA

Excellent buy! I dig on my M44. The fireball & concussive blast of air will bring a smile to your face for sure - enjoy!

'53 was a very good year.

There are many like it. This one is mine.

"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."
