Hold tight, with the release of the 6Mil rifles and 7.62 BBL receivers they are backed up a bit. Sent in order on the 5th "overnight" and did not get a DBU until the 15th.

I actually just asked this in a thread in the Centerfire Rifles forum but this thread seems more applicable -

What CMP Affiliated Organization are you members of?

How did you satisfy their "Marksmanship or other Firearms Related Activity" requirements for ordering?

              Is it just form 2A?

Revolutionary War Verterans Association. Take the Appleseed class. It's actually fun! You can join the association at the class and get your training cert at the same time!

The Garand Collectors Association, http://www.thegca.org, is only $25.00 a year and puts out interesting newsletters. Your California "Handgun Safety Certificate" covers the firearms related activity. Don't forget to get the page noterized that requires it. Also you need both a drivers license AND birth certificate or passport to prove age and citizenship. Good luck to everyone who is ordering. You won't be sorry.

I used CRPA for my club affiliation and my 03-FFL for the firearms related activity.

I think if you used a birth certificate for citizenship, it also qualifies as proof of age since it says the date you were born on it. Same for passport. I just sent them a photocopy of the page on my passport with my photo, DOB, country of citizenship, etc. Granted, I haven't gotten my rifle yet, so there's still time for them to contact me and tell me I'm missing proof of age, but I suspect as long as your proof of citizenship has a birthdate, you're in the clear (the CMP site says that usually proof of citizenship docs will also satisfy proof of age)

Wow handgun safety cert qualifies even though you don't have to live fire?

CMP just got to their mail from the 16th so it is taking some time to get the initial e-mail that sais they opened your packet. The time of 3 week turnarounds are on hold for awhile. Just sit back and try not to eat all the way through your fingers I got spoiled when my first order took 3 weeksa from the day I mailed it till it hit my doorstep so I was pretty worried on this latest order. After 2 weeks I called them and got the bad news about the wait times.

M1 Collectors Club is the cheapest way to join a affilaited club $14 per year. Same benafits as the GCA just no quarterly magazine
