I remember reading the story on those years and years ago in a Amerian Rifleman magazine. Post pics!

There is a company currently making reproductions.

Just for the absurdity of it- I like it! I wonder if it can be fired like any other pistol? The originals were said to fall apart after about 10 rounds. Perfectly fine for their intended purpose.

None were ever shipped overseas so I would not believe the story that it was picked up by an OSS officer in China. Since that company started reproducing the pistols there has been a lot of fraud on the market.

It would be SSE right out the gate so long as the extended barrel meets minimum length, which appears that it does judging by the photo.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?

take this with a Grain of salt, its from Wkipedia but your wrong
In reality, the OSS never saw the practicality in mass dropping the Liberator over occupied Europe, and only a handful were ever distributed. Only the Chinese and resistance forces and the Philippine Commonwealth military in the Philippines received the Liberator in any significant quantity. The Liberator was never issued to American or Allied troops and there is no documented instance of the weapon being used for their intended purpose.

Well if the reproductions are $600 the orginals must be north of that.

OP, I'd really like to see pics of your original!

I passed on one for $300 back in '90 - because it didn't have the box or papers.

I remember hearing stories back then of people finding these at garage sales being sold as toys.

                          10 years & $10K if it's a real one.

Real ones are NFA AOWs due to being smooth bore.
