So I got my shipped e-mail for my Service Grade M1's today . Ordered on the 23rd and shipped on the 11th. It looks like the SA has a s/n of 5827XXX and the HRA has a S/N of 4790XXX. I am curious of the manufacture dates with those S/N's. I don't expect any kind of historical find, but I would like to know when at least the reciever was made. I will post pictures once my hands stop shaking once I recieve them.

Your Springfield was born around 1956. What does barrel say could lead to date if a SA barrel with a 55-57 date.
HRA born on date 1953-1954

The SA has the new CMP stock and is beutiful. The HRA has a very dinged up ( no cracks ) USGI stock. I am curious on how to clean the HRA stock. I do not want to refinish or anything like that, I just want to clean it up. Any ideas? I will post pics hopefully tonight. The SA has a muzzle of 1 and a throat of 2. The HRA has a muzzle of 1+ and a Throaty of 2+. What does the + mean?CALGUNS DICTIONARY "FLIER": when a shooter wants to turn a 1 inch group to a half inch group because he flinched.Comment

My kids are starving but what the hell, they can wait. Here they are
. I know the HRA with the dinged USGI stock is probably more collectable, but the SA looks so nice with the new CMP stock. The SA has a SA bolt and 3-55 barrel and the HRA has a HRA bolt and 6-53 Barrel. Both bores are nice and shiney.

Sent request for two 6 million SN guns overnight on the 10th. I put two SAs field grade as second choice in case the request did not get there in time. Fully expect to get my second choice. I'm glad your SAs look so good.Comment
