    Cool, I would totally get that if I could afford .45-70 as of now. But I can't. Sigh.

      I have a Gibbs/Navy Arms SMLE converted to 45/70 and it's quite the little rifle. I had the thing drilled & tapped, Williams top mount using an old Bushnell Scope Chief. I don't shoot it as much as I should, it always groups well. I reload to Marlin 1895 levels, from what I've read the thing should be able to handle it.

        I think it would be cool to have one of the Gibbs conversions. They don't often come up for sale.
