The clips are nothing to worry about. Keep them in your tool box, junk drawer, glove box. Just don't leave them outside in your tool shed or barn. Further more if anything is to happen to them, there are many to be found all over. Other words, they are a dime a dozen. As loading ammo in the enbloc, go right to left. Meaning the first round should be top right. Its that simple. Humidity would be nice if it is to be 0%. If you live on the beach in a lot of fog and moister, keep it low.

I agree the clips are virtualy indistructable unless it is run over by a truck. As far as it losing their "sprig", this is nothing to worry about. I opened a loaded LC sealed spam can of loaded clips from the 40s and it function like it was made yesterday.

The M1 is ambidextrous for feeding. Top round right or left doesn't matter.

It's only personal preference depending on which hand (usually trigger pulling hand) you use to push down the enbloc clip. One way is easier for right handers and vice versa, but it will work regardless of whether the top round is on the right or the left.

            I don't know about a dime a dozen.
Just paid good money for original USGI.
Where are you getting yours for that price?

Doesn't matter as far as left or right for function, however, I find it much easier to load, with my right hand, if the top round is on the right.
And if someone knows where to get clips for less than $1 each, delivered, please post a link.

They won't lose their "spring". Leave them loaded if you like.
