    get my M 48 today

been getting all the important Mosins to me. sniper, ex sniper, 29 tula, 35 hex Izzy, wartime 43 Izzy and a 1955 Romanian M -44. time for something else.
the next best value is a Serb M-48. big 5 all matching sharp M-48. very excited. not interested in more valuable historic rifles like a pre war K 98 etc.
when SHTF comes i want shooters and lots of ammo.

Picked up my m48 a year ago from Big 5. You will enjoy shooting it. Everything worked smooth on it. Great buy!

wait I thought the M48 was a yugo? I know that Serbia was in the old nation of Yugoslavia. Is this just a different name or is there a difference between the rifles or one in the same?
either way these mauser's are awesome guns. enjoy it!

Yugoslavia is one of the most complicated stories ever. The rifles have a lot more in common than the Yugoslavians.

picked it up. must be a 1950-1952 M 48 no A after that M-48 stamping. the wood is very dark with plenty of small dings. no cracks or chips, bluing worn but no rust. lots of cosmo but rifling looks bright and strong even before cleaning. so i will be cleaning my new baby tonight. VERY HAPPY so far. it did not come with goodies. not smart enough or lazy to learn how to post pics.
