    New Mauser Scout Mount

I just got one of the prototypes to torture test. Naturally it arrived two days after the Spenceville shoot. So far looks like a solid design, USA made and all steel. I'll run some surplus Turk through the rifle and see if I can shake anything loose. I'll post a range report here when I'm done abusing it.

Interesting concept. I like the recoil lug as an anchor point idea. However, I see one major issue with this design. It sits fantastically high above the current line of sight. I would be shocked if you can get a cheekweld on the comb of the military stock with this. No cheekweld, no consistent shooting. They need to offer an M-1D sniper Garand lace-on cheekpad or something with a lot of lift to go with this setup.

I say this because I have a much lower profile K98k scout mount, and I can barely get a cheekweld (more like a chinweld) with that one.

Crunch, that came with it, I'll post some pics when I get everything mounted. It looks like the one they make for a Mosin.
